Qode does not sell software to humans; we develop software to the benefit of people.

On the 28th of May 2021, a team consisting of staff from Qode Health Solutions, Pioneering Solutions Studio, and PQF Group Services visited Vastfontein Community Transformation. The outreach project was initiated by the CSI Committee, a council composed of members from each company to drive outreach programmes that ‘develop a community beyond software’.
The first project of the year involved Vastfontein Community Transformation, a foundation that provides a place of safety and care for orphans and vulnerable children. Through their vision to transform the community, Vastfontein aims to educate, train, develop, and mentor marginalised and neglected South African youth.
In partnering with Vastfontein, our group of companies identified several areas of need where we believed we could assist. Many of the children sometimes go a full day at school without eating anything, as well as having limited access to basic toiletries as a basic need. We wanted to assist them where possible and our first t part of the drive was focused on receiving donations of any non-perishable food items, toiletries for girls and boys (e.g., sanitary products, deodorant, razor blades and shaving cream, toothpaste, and toothbrushes), as well as any previously loved clothing items. Given that Vastfontein primarily cares for both primary and high school children, the CSI Committee packaged the toiletries in previously loved backpacks for the boys, and in handbags for the girls for a more personal touch.
In addition to this small contribution from our side, as a group of companies that specialises in software development for various sectors, our developers were in a prime position to lend a technical hand to Vastfontein’s IT needs. Updates and upgrades were the name of the game as our makeshift IT helpdesk provided their desktops with software updates, virus removals, and repairs so that students can continue to learn and develop by using the latest software applications.
And while donations and IT support were the order of the day, the CSI Committee has established a bin drive dedicated to the children of Vastfontein. These donation bins are located in and around our office campus and are labelled according to the collection items, namely: non-perishable food, toiletries, and clothing. All collected donations will be taken to Vastfontein every two months.
A huge thank you must go out to all staff who donated items and played a role on the day.
